Archives 2013 is only a week away, and I am sure that you, like us, are looking forward to a vibrant and informative conference. This year’s program includes a strong focus on digital preservation in the cloud and it’s great to see that many early developers will be talking about their practical experiences – digital preservation is coming of age.
Tessella is delighted to be at the forefront of these exciting developments. At prior SAA conferences, we have led small workgroup sessions to explain key elements of digital preservation and lead workshops to explore options like cloud technology. This year at Archives 2013, through our collaboration with several SAA member institutions, we will be facilitating the presentation of two cases studies reporting on production implementations of full lifecycle, cloud based digital preservation systems using Preservica.
Using the same advanced “Active Preservation” technology specifically developed for leading national archives and memory institutions across the world, Preservica makes digital preservation possible for all sizes of institution – without incurring all the human and capital costs of running such a specialist service.
At Archives 2013 you can take advantage of several opportunities to find out more about Active Preservation in the cloud:
- Learn from practitioners: see how Hagley Museum & Archives and the Kentucky Department for Libraries and Archives (KDLA) are preserving their digital records and collections with Preservica at a Forum on Wednesday August 14th 2013 and Thursday August 16th 2013 during SAA.
- Attend a Preservica workshop: discover how you can make the case for digital preservation in the cloud and find out about the Preservica “Quick Start Program” at a special workshop on Friday August 16th, 2013.
- See Preservica in action: meet with our Active Preservation experts to discuss your current digital preservation requirements, learn more about digital preservation or to see a Preservica demonstration.
Please contact firstname.lastname@example.org if you are interested in attending any of the above sessions or for a prearranged meeting.
We look forward to seeing you there!
